【SCENES】 The Last Train
so you went and died
CW: Death, Afterlife, Discussions of Mortality
You wake to the sound of a train on tracks. The sound is quiet and the train's shaking is very faint, with only the occasional bump along the tracks. Opening your eyes, you find yourself sitting in an old fashioned train car. The seats and flooring are all made of wood. Outside of the window, you can see stars and galaxies sailing by. The interior of the car is completely empty and devoid of any other passengers. Looking around, you'll see that there isn't any luggage: Not even your own. Then, upon looking ahead again, you'll find that you are no longer alone.
A young girl sits in the seat opposite you. Her long white hair sparkles like starlight and her purple eyes seem to reflect galaxies. She slowly lifts her spacial gaze to meet your eye, smiling calmly as she says: "I see... So you died?"

This is not what she expected at all, especially when she considers what she is, amongst other things. ]
Guess I did. Hi! Who're ya?
[ She's.
So casual about it. ]

I am the Conductor of this train... The one that takes the deceased to their final stop. It's unfortunate to meet you, Ms Kofune Ushio.

[ This is where Ushio finds herself frowning, leaning a bit against her chair. ]
Don't be too gloomy, Conductor! No "unfortunates" here. Now, let's try that again. Say it with me: "it's nice to meet'cha"!

[She yawns into her hand.] Strange how you Fallen Stars are somehow so happy to be here. Are you not depressed to learn of your passing?

'S there a reason fer that?

[Her purple gaze turns outside the window, towards the cosmos that slowly pass them by.]
The world you were in is trapped between times and spaces. It's impossible to leave it right now. Even the dead are stuck circling that world. It makes more sense to return you there then to keep going in circles.

But I see. Don'tcha get lonely, though?
